1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed/encrypted form).
- Financial Data: Transaction records (amounts, descriptions, categories, dates), budget limits, savings goals, credits/loans details, and bill reminders that you manually enter.
- Profile Information: Profile photo (optional), preferred currency, and theme preferences.
- Receipts: Photos of receipts you choose to upload and attach to transactions.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type (iOS/Android/Web), operating system version.
- Usage Data: App feature usage patterns, session duration, and interaction data.
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and error logs for debugging purposes.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Payment Processor: If you subscribe to Premium, Stripe processes your payment. We receive confirmation of subscription status but do NOT store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or full payment card information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the App's core functionality (expense tracking, budgeting, analytics).
- To process your Premium subscription via Stripe.
- To send you account-related emails (verification, password reset, welcome emails).
- To generate financial analytics and insights based on your transaction data.
- To improve and optimize the App's performance and user experience.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats.
3. Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored on secure cloud servers with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL).
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
- Authentication is handled via JWT (JSON Web Tokens) with secure token management.
- File uploads (receipts, profile photos) are stored in encrypted cloud storage (AWS S3) with access controls.
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Stripe (payment processing), AWS (cloud hosting/storage), Brevo (transactional email delivery). These providers only access data necessary to perform their services.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or government request.
- Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Equinox, our users, or the public.
5. Your Rights & Choices
- Access: You can view all your data within the App at any time.
- Export: Premium users can export their data as CSV or PDF files.
- Correction: You can update your profile and financial records at any time.
- Deletion: You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at [email protected].
- Consent Withdrawal: You can stop using the App at any time. Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete your account data — please contact us for account deletion.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
